Bible teaching that helps you
stand upright before the Word

At Veritas Institute of the Bible we study the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, as one story centered on Christ. Wherever you are, you can begin in our online campus.

About VIB

Standing upright before the Word.

Veritas Institute of the Bible grows out of the California Bible Conference and the New York Bible Conference. Our aim is to offer more systematic Bible study to believers around the world, so that they stand rightly before the Word of God.

2007

New York Bible Conference

Begun in 2007 among Korean young adults in six cities of upstate New York. Several teachers each take a book of the Bible, and one theme holds the weekend together.

VIB

What we hold to

Scripture-centered, Christ-centered and church-centered. We read the whole Bible as one story that runs from Genesis to Revelation and centers on Jesus Christ.

Mission and vision

Building up believers through the Word, serving the church

Mission

VIB teaches the whole Bible systematically and with Christ at the center, so that believers around the world stand upright before the Word and grow into workers who build up the church.

Vision

  1. 01

Believers who stand upright before the Word

By studying Scripture book by book, from Genesis to Revelation, believers learn to read the Word for themselves, interpret it rightly and obey it in daily life.

  2. 02

    A church restored and united

As churches and small groups study the Word together, we share the hope the two Bible Conferences have long carried: the restoration and unity of the church and revival in local congregations.

  3. 03

    Learning beyond language and distance

Through an online campus open in seven languages, anyone, wherever they live, can receive in-depth Bible teaching.

Statement of faith

What we believe

VIB confesses the historic Christian faith and builds all of its teaching on this confession.

  1. Scripture

The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, written under His inspiration. They are without error and the only sufficient rule for faith and life.

  2. The triune God

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He created all things and governs them by His providence.

  3. Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily, ascended into heaven, and will come again.

  4. The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and gives new birth. He dwells in believers, makes them holy and gives them gifts for service.

  5. Salvation

All people are separated from God by sin, yet by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ, they are justified and saved.

  6. The church

The church is the body of Christ. Together we worship, learn the Word and share in the sacraments, serve one another in love and carry the gospel to the ends of the earth.

  7. The last things

Christ will return in glory to judge the living and the dead; the dead will be raised, and God will bring about a new heaven and a new earth.

Good to know while you study

  • Today's step

When you sign in, "Today's step" on the first screen shows the next lesson and what to do now. "Continue learning" takes you straight there.

  • Read, listen, enlarge

Reading lessons offer four text sizes, and "Listen" reads the text aloud. You can change the playback speed and pick up where you stopped.

  • Open the Bible alongside

Passages in a lesson open in the Bible screen, and you can return to the lesson from there.

  • Assignments and quizzes

Each assignment shows the question before the answer box, and your draft is saved as you write. On quizzes you may retake, your highest score counts toward your grade.

  • Discussions and questions

Share your thoughts with classmates in course discussions, and send personal questions privately to your instructor with "Ask a question". For sign-in or screen problems, send a site support request.

  • Calendar and certificates

See due dates and class times in the calendar and subscribe to it from your phone's calendar app. Once you meet the completion requirements and your final grade is confirmed, download your transcript and certificate as PDFs.
